YAKKA VODKA Branding

Project Overview

Yakka Vodka is a premium vodka inspired by Sri Lankan flavors, where traditional spices meet a modern citrus twist, resulting in a unique, refined blend that captures both heritage and contemporary elegance.

Through this project, I explored the full spectrum of brand design, from defining the story and visual language to creating packaging and typographic systems that bring the concept to life.

To bring Yakka Vodka to life, I developed a visual system that balances the richness of Sri Lankan culture with minimalist modern design. Central to this system is a motif language inspired by Raksha mask elements such as headpieces, scales, earrings, and teeth patterns, which I reinterpreted into clean modular forms.

These motifs serve as versatile building blocks across the brand, appearing in label backgrounds, embossed bottle details, secondary patterns, branded textures, and other collateral and merchandise. By varying colors, textures, and pattern arrangements, each bottle develops its own personality while remaining part of a cohesive collectible series that feels both unified and distinct.

LOGO DESIGN

The primary emblem integrates a Raksha mask silhouette with strokes inspired by Sinhala typography, creating a symbol that feels both mythic and contemporary. It is intentionally simplified to remain premium, scalable, and versatile across packaging, print, and digital touchpoints.

Packaging Design

The packaging for Yakka Vodka features a clean, architectural bottle silhouette combined with culturally inspired details, creating a look that feels luxurious and purposeful. The design emphasizes simplicity and refinement, with minimal front-label composition, subtle foil accents, and embossed motifs that highlight the brand’s heritage. Matte textured finishes add tactility and premium quality, while a sculptural cap design reinforces the collectible, high-end nature of the product. Together, these elements create an intentional and memorable experience, including a thoughtful unboxing presentation for limited editions.
